People use theatrical makeup supplies for everything from stage and film productions to parties and special occasions to Halloween costumes and haunted houses. Some of the most commonly used theatrical makeup supplies include makeup brushes, sponges, creme and cake foundations, and color palettes with every shade you could imagine.

If youre hosting a childrens party and want to spice it up with some theatrical makeup supplies for the kids to experiment with, I recommend buying some water-soluble face painting kits. Quality brands like Mehron and Ben Nye make face painting kits with hypoallergenic paints, professional-style brushes and applicators, and easy-to-follow instruction booklets. You can even buy face painting crayons that wash off easily with soap and water.

Exciting Theatrical Makeup Supplies
Face painting kits, glitter makeup, and setting powder are not the only theatrical makeup supplies carried by good online stores. Some of the more exciting supplies include fake blood, liquid latex (for aging and creating fake wounds), glycerin (for fake tears and sweat), and wigs and mustaches. You can even find prosthetic horns if you want to give your costume an extra kick! If you are a novice but really want to go all out this Halloween, you can purchase character makeup kits with detailed instruction booklets included.

A comprehensive inventory of theatrical makeup supplies will always include gentle, effective makeup removers and facial cleansers. Remember: it is important to cleanse your face before applying makeup, as well as later when you want to remove it. Starting off with a clean face helps makeup set better and stay looking fresh for a longer period of time. When you remove your makeup, make sure you use the type of cleanser that corresponds to your makeup type–either creme-based or water-based.

Tattoo cover kits effectively hide tattoos in situations where showing a tattoo is not convenient or advisable. Professional makeup artists use tattoo cover kits a lot on movie sets due to the growing popularity of body art in recent years. Whenever an actor has a tattoo that does not fit the character he or she is playing, a makeup artist will use cover up makeup to hide it. Tattoo cover can also be effectively used to hide birthmarks and other scars.

Actors and makeup artists are not the only people who use tattoo cover kits. Many a young person has had to cover up a tattoo during a job interview. Some places of business are pretty conservative about the image they want their employees to present, and just because you have a tattoo, doesnt mean you wouldnt be a great worker. Instead of missing out on a good job opportunity, you can just use a little makeup from a tattoo cover kit and sidestep the issue altogether.

Tattoo Cover Kits and Halloween
Some people take Halloween very seriously. For many of us, putting together a Halloween costume simply means buying a mask and cheap costume at the drug store. Theres nothing wrong with masks and costumes–sometimes the cheesier, the better, but for the serious Halloween enthusiast, a costume must be well put together. Tattoo cover kits are available at quality online costume and makeup shops, and they are a must-have for people who need every detail to be just right.

Imagine: Halloween is your favorite holiday of the year; youve spent a considerable amount of money on a Cleopatra costume, but you know that Cleopatra did not have a butterfly tattoo on her upper arm. Instead of worrying about how your tattoo will break the illusion of your costume, you can simply use tattoo cover makeup on it and enjoy your evening. Who knows, you might even win a costume contest!

Character mascots are a terrific thing to purchase if you do any work in the theatre. As someone with a great deal of experience working onstage, I speak from experience when I tell you that adding a character costume to any theatrical prop-room really expands the possibilities. Whether you work in a high school theatre department or a professional one, a mascot is always a good idea.

Tips for Using Character Mascots:
Depending on the type of show, there are many ways in which to can use a mascot to enhance performance. One stunt Ive found very effective is to place an actor in a comedic character costume at the entrance of the theatre acting as an usher. As the people come in, have your usher lead them to seats in the house that are completely ridiculous (such as backstage and/or on the laps of other patrons). The patrons already seated roar with laughter at such antics, and your audience will immediately be warmed up for the show.

Character costumes can also be used in childrens theatre. No matter how you slice it, children positively love mascots. To them, a mascot is like a big puppet. Should you choose to choose a mascot or two in your next kids theatre production, I promise you that the children in the audience will be completely fascinated and entertained. Give it a try and youll see!

Advertising costumes are quite effective when used properly. Whether you want to draw some customers to a store opening or want to spread the word about your website, costumes that advertise draw attention and get reactions. For more information about advertising with a costume, please read on!

The Benefits of Advertising Costumes:
One of the things I like most about costume advertising is the fact that it is interactive. Rather than a billboard and/or an add in the newspaper, when someone takes notice of a costume advertisement he/she has the opportunity to go and ask the person in the costume questions about the advertisement. Whats more, a costume designed for advertising is very cost effective as it can be used over and over again.

If you are thinking about hiring someone to wear a costume advertising your business, then I recommend that you put a great deal of thought as to where you want to position him/her. One location that I have found exceptionally lucrative for costume advertising is a university campus. After sending my employee to a local campus for a few hours, I was astonished by the number of calls I received! It really does work.

Advertising costumes are easy to find, easy to use, and cost effective. I believe that anyone who owns a business should invest in one. If you are an elementary school teacher, I strongly recommend that you invest in some cartoon costumes. Easy to find, easy to use, and extremely cost-effective, cartoon mascots and/or costumes are terrific teaching tools. As someone who has worked with kids for several years in the past, I speak from experience when I say that cartoon mascots work wonders in the classroom.

Teaching with Cartoon Costumes:
If there is one thing you should know about teaching kids, it is this: children have positively no attention span. As a teacher, if you are not constantly entertaining your students with energetic lesson plans and/or teaching games, then you can rest assured that they wont be paying attention for long. That is why Ive found cartoon mascots such an excellent teaching resource.

I am a strong believer in teaching with puppets. To me, a cartoon mascot and/or costume is just another extension of puppet teaching. No matter what the age, children positively adore mascots. They just cant get enough of them! Your kids might not be interested in hearing you lecture for ten minutes, but you can rest assured they will listen attentively to someone dressed in a cartoon costume doing the same!

Cartoon costumes are terrific teaching tools, no matter what the students age!
